Archery Club in Dorset

Beginners' Courses
Our nationally certified coaches will teach you all you need to get started in the sport.
The Course
The tutorials are designed to teach the principles of "target archery", including bow and shooting styles and all aspects of range and personal safety. The lessons provide a stepping stone into an exciting sport in a well supervised safe environment.
Students vary from the age of 8 to the more senior who have just realised this is one sport they should have tried years ago!
For those who DID take up archery previously but have been away for a while, the courses also enable you to resume and regain club and national governing body membership.
A course consists of TWO (2) tutorial sessions spread over two consecutive Sundays from 1030-1530.
Cost
The cost for 2026 is £70 per person (£45 for under 21s) and covers both sessions, tuition and all equipment. The club is insured through the National Smallbore Rifle Association (NSRA).
For 2026 we will run two 2-session beginner/resumer courses on the following dates:
No. 1) May 24th + May 31st
No. 2) July 26th + August 2nd
Course attendees under 18 registered for tuition must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the period of tuition.
Limitation
The ability to draw a bow varies with each individual. The club however, has equipment to suit all age groups and abilities.
To reiterate, when under-18s are present for any tuition or shooting, a parent or guardian is to be present.
